About me

From my time working and gaining experience in recent years, I have learnt that I would like to gear towards a career in the Journalism industry.

My work has been recognised by Sky News & The Times Newspaper - and subsequently they have offered me lengthy placements on their sports desks' in the near future. Furthermore, I have been offered industry work from both FourFourTwo Magazine & The Cricketer Magazine in 2013. I will be taking up these placements unless, of course, an opportunity such as this in the industry becomes available.

Social media and communications are very much a part of everyday life for every organisation nowadays - and as somebody who has grown up as social media has exploded; I feel I am in a prime position when it comes to these matters. I have gained a lot of experience in this area and feel supremely confident with my knowledge of how and why social media is so important.

My interpersonal skills are second-to-none, and I have the ability to influence and support those around me. One of the tasks I have great experience in, is turning raw texts into engaging articles. I have completed tasks such as this many times during my work with magazines, newspapers and PR agencies. I find myself to be an innovative character that is always looking to achieve that extra goal.

Furthermore, I have experience in breaking my own news stories for several publications, and have no problem pursuing leads and building relationships with senior contacts. Also, I have vast experience in conducting research tasks and working to tight deadlines.

I believe myself to have both excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have experience working within busy and challenging professional environments. I am extremely confident working with packages such as Microsoft Office, and I'm happy to work either individually or as part of a team.

My most recent role is at Anorak London - the UK's leading music PR company. My role here has seen me taking control of all social media channels and communities to a full extent, whilst interacting and meeting hugely reputable brands and clients. I also organise and assist with the management of live events. Additionally, I have full control of the company blog, and spend a lot of time creating & editing content.

I also spend a lot of time interacting with subscribers, and initiating stimulating debate to keep people interested and active. I have a lot of involvement with product management and work hard to establish and maintain partnerships.

Furthermore, a key responsibility in my role here also includes sourcing material and uploading content. I have also taken on a role within the digital department, which includes garnering press attention and ensuring artists and events get the relative attention.

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read my application, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,

Aaron Bains
