Dear Sir/Miss

I have recently completed my BA Hons in Photography and Video at De Montfort University and am eager to extend my skills and experience in a practical setting. I am keen to be considered by your organisation for an internship or vacancy as I believe my qualifications and skills are suited to your working environment.

I am particularly interested in approaching your company as I am aware of the work you do and your reputation in this field. I believe that I would gain opportunities and scope to build on existing ideas and knowledge and explore new techniques and practical skills. As I am coming to the profession with a fresh new approach I am keen to do my learning and development with a company that has the ability to offer a broad perspective, and will take advantage of my receptiveness to learn in an open minded way.

I believe as a creative thinker that my skills would also enable me to contribute positively to the work of your team. This is demonstrated in my final project at university, where my short stop motion film focuses on depression, shown through representation of visual metaphors. This film aims to capture people's attention by taking them on a journey through someone's mind. This originally developed from past work focussing on mysterious, tense and unsettling atmospheres using lighting, location and environment as the main centrepiece. The blending of sound throughout the video creates a connection with the viewer to evoke the idea of emotions experienced.
