ABOUT
Built in 1906, the Ritz at 150 Piccadilly has been a London landmark for over a century. It’s also regarded by its cosmopolitan clientele as the benchmark by which other hotels are measured. Our long-term relationship with the Ritz earned us the privilege of honouring its first 100 years with the design of a commemorative crest and an extensive rebrand.
We took the Ritz’s existing logo and carefully introduced new elements to the design, creating a crest that recognised the milestone in the Hotel’s history. We then applied the brand design that emerged from this across everything from marketing literature and specially watermarked stationery to menus and advertising. Timeless photography was choreographed of the staff at work, the experience of the guests and the venue itself. Attention to detail, refinement, elegance and understatement were our goals. They helped inspire a quintessentially British identity and guidelines worthy of a history populated by the great and good, the intelligentsia, the glitterati and thousands of discerning guests.
The branding we created appeared throughout the Hotel’s bars and restaurants, and made a positive, long-lasting impression on an international and multi-lingual clientele. We helped ensure the centenary was as remarkable as it deserved to be and prepared The Ritz for the future.
