About me
To whom it may concern,
I am a Brazilian Service and Industrial/Product Designer, with research and Design Thinking skills to solve problems and create new strategies bringing to innovation. I am passionate for what I do, because I believe that through products and services we can provide better experiences for users, and as a consequence, provide small moments
of happiness that makes all the difference in people's lives.
During the three years I have worked with packaging, I have demonstrated ability to work
under pressure, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work collaboratively with internal and external suppliers. As one of my achievements, I created strategies to reduce the cost of products already established in the market, famous for the brand and packaging and the experience they provide to customers. Changing the products without changing the experience was my challenge. Through research, analysis, prototypes and testing I was able to achieve such results.
Having coming to London for my master's degree, I have worked in Carbon Voyage Ltd, a
consultancy company focused in helping people and companies to move in a more efficient,
effective and environmental way. I was able to apply Service Design, Design Thinking and
research skills based in user experience to improve an existing service, as well as storytelling and data visualizations as tools of communication. Design was a vehicle to change the business perspective on the importance of the human factor in the service. The work involved research to define the project scope, goals and user needs, problem solving, creative thinking, service development, prototyping and testing.
Working for Think Global and Nesta, I have the opportunity to apply design thinking into
different markets such as social areas and creative economy. I could experience design as a trigger to drive creativity and innovation as well as overcome challenges. My experience at Nesta included applying Human Centered Design tools on their programme's digital platform to improve the user experience. The process involved structuring and organizing the information on the programme's website (Digital R&D Fund for Arts and Culture), creating visuals that better explain ideas, wireframes and prototypes. It aimed to better explain the eight projects that were supported in this pilot programme, as well as engage new applicants for the new version of the programme.
My design background allowed me to experience the roles of products and services in
various industry sectors providing different experiences to users; therefore I believe I have
the qualification and skills that you are looking for.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Gabriela Ichimura
