Dear Sir/Madam,

Please accept this as my formal letter of application for the Marketing Designer post.

I have attached a copy of my CV and a brief portfolio, as well as links to my website.

I am a newly qualified graduate with a BA (Hons) degree in Multimedia from Nottingham Trent University. My ambition is to become a first class practitioner of interactive arts and I am looking for a role which will help me to develop and build on my skills in this field.

I have been a keen multimedia artist with a love for how things are presented and new technologies, and possess a real passion is for all things 3D. My style and skills are diverse, allowing me to adapt to any given project.

Whilst at Guildford College, I worked on the graphic design elements of a published book and also won several graphics design competitions to produce posters for an exhibition and logos for a national charity. My enthusiasm for my subject led to my selection as a student ambassador, representing my university as part of an exchange trip to Shanghai and in my final term I was selected as a lead designer for the annual multimedia design exhibition, producing artwork for the design catalogue and website. I helped with photography and fundraising and organised the collation and printing of all exhibition materials, as well as designing and constructing the exhibition space. Following graduation, I was selected to represent the university at the annual 'New Blood' Exhibition in London, which showcases new talent in the multimedia industry. My work was also chosen to be entered for the international D&AD New Blood award. I then went on to win D&AD Best New Blood of 2012 which is a huge honour.

Presenting briefs to real-life clients as part of my courses and as a freelance artist, has been extremely interesting and has allowed me to develop good communication, project planning and time management skills. I am a very friendly, enthusiastic, positive and outgoing person, who is equally suited to teamwork and independent tasks. My IT skills are sound and include advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and all other Adobe Creative Suite packages, as well as 3DS Max, Mudbox and some basic Maya skills.

The prospect of embarking on my new career is an extremely exciting one and I cannot wait to get started. I would like that start to be as a member of your talented team and so hope that you will consider me for the Marketing Designer post.
