Shadowplay CHELTENHAM

ABOUT

Last month we embarked upon one of our biggest projects yet, and we are pleased to say it was a great success. We were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to photograph the Rolls-Royce Definitive Collection – The Phantom Zenith.

The shoot comprised of 3 nights of photography, with no way of preparing for this the guys dived straight in. Lack of sleep hit them on the shoot at about 3am so a mad coffee dash was in order. Good job the coffee was only 25p as refills were needed! There was limited time to capture the images in the production line at Goodwood, the pressure was on! Unfortunately nobody got to have a little test drive of what it is like to be one of the rich and famous instead it was just long coats and a lot of tredding carefully.

As you can imagine, the shoot was full of lighting challenges. We used a helium light balloon for the first time which was brilliant for lighting such large vehicles, the first few moments were nerve racking watching it float above the cars hoping it wouldn’t suddenly drop!

There was a tight turn around on these as the whole collection was already purchased so they were sent out to the customers each with a priceless piece of Goodwood for the owners to cherish.

This is the last of their line, these models bear the name ‘Zenith’ as they are, quite simply, some of the finest and rarest Rolls‑Royce ever made.

Director of Design, Giles Taylor said “The best of its kind; the highest standard achievable by which everything else is judged. It will be the sum of all the best features of Phantom Coupé and Phantom Drop head Coupé, with a few surprises added. We shall not look upon their like again.”

We are very proud of the images that were produced and look forward to our next project with Rolls Royce, watch this space!
