I am a words person, always writing ... stories, articles, books..

I have 3 books already in print; 2 teaching guides on how to teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 using Edward De Bono's Six Thinking Hats Theory, and a book of short stories that I sell to raise funds for Berkshire Women's Aid. I do various writing work for Chraities, including:

Reading my short stories on Rugby Hospital Radio, for their 9pm bedtime story spot.

Writing the Blog for The Mayor of Reading (and I am in the middle of his Autobiography), I have also written positive press articles and training materials for Berkshire Women's Aid and for a National Charity, where I was Head of Marketing across 3 Counties for 8 years.

I have just Proof-read the latest book published by Ashby Museum about the Ashby Workhouse, and enjoy Editing and Proof-reading as a method of self-development by learning about unusual and interesting subjects.

I have no ties, and enjoy working with different organisations and companies, on short-term contracts, and doing ad-hoc work for businesses - especially if I can travel to new places!

Creative Writing, writing sales and marketing copy for websites, leaflets, business profiles, writing press releases and articles, writing short stories - both for adults and children. Writing speeches for events, writing song lyrics., Editing - light editing and developmental editing of all business literature., Reviewing business sales and marketing literature, scoring in 10 categories and making suggestions for improvements., Proof-reading - Books, Dissertations and articles/literature for spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, inclusion, jargon, equality, and comprehension.

Sector Experience

I have spent 9 years working in Local Government, managing multi-agency teams within Children’s Social Care; including the Young People’s Drug & Alcohol Team, the Children’s Rights & Advocacy Team and the Young People’s Participation Strategy.I managed the Safeguarding Children Board for 5 years, along with frequent Serious Case Reviews for Ofsted., Before this, I was a Play Development Consultant for 10 years, covering 9 Counties from Hampshire to Staffordshire, designing children’s play areas and advising Local Authorities and Schools on the outdoor play needs of children and teenagers., I have a Grammar School background
