I have recently graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Master of Arts in Textile Design where I specialised in Woven Textiles. Prior to my post-graduate education I received First Class Honours in Textile Design from Winchester School of Art.
During the past five years I have been precise in my desire to work within the textile and fashion industry and for a company such as yourselves. Specific activities and achievements in this area of work include:
- Tessitura Taiana Virgilio Spa - seven week internship as a designer within the style department in Italy - responsibilities include working closly with trends and using both Photoshop and Penelope CAD to produce woven and printed designs for menswear shirting, womenswear and beachwear collections.
- Premiere Vision & Spinexpo - Exhibited and sold my work
- Stylesight & WGSN - work repeatedly selected as part of their material forecasts.
- Paul Smith - two week internship as a design assistant in the London studios - responsibilities included using both Photoshop, Illustrator and hand drawing skills. I produced several design ranges two of which were put into production by Paul Smith. Further details are included in my CV.
- Holbrook Studios, Peclers Paris - internship as a studio assistant - worked alongside the design team to complete the 2012 trend books and I prepared the Pitti Filati Trend Boards that are used within presentations to clients
- WGSN - internal projects forecasting colour and material trends for their website.
- RCA - Wide range of work culminating in final collection graded as 'Excellent'
- RCA Final Year Collaboration with Menswear Fashion Student Josefine Jarzombek to produce bespoke woven fabrics that were engineered to specific garment patterns.
- Research visits to Premier Vision - Paris, China, New York, Huddersfield and Savile Row
- Both a hands on team member and a self motivated individual with the ability to learn new systems and techniques
- Ability to remain focused in a highly demanding, fast-paced commercial environment
