About me

I am an enthusiastic and hard working individual, I enjoy being given a challenge and will try anything new offered to me. Time keeping is very important and I feel team work is a vital part of learning and progressing. I am reliable and can adapt to any situation. I am capable of achieving personal objectives as demonstrated by successful completion of my degree and my commitment to work experience activities. I have displayed ambition and goal orientated performance within my studies at University. I am very computer literate and I have a sound knowledge of computer programs including computer aided design programs such as Photoshop. I am a very creative person and I am passionate about painting which I am commissioned to paint canvases, using my artistic skills.

The BA ( Hons ) Textiles course has provided me with the knowledge and understanding of approaches to drawing and visual research strategies, to demonstrate an enhanced awareness of creative, technical and professional requirements of textile design practice. I have learnt an extensive knowledge of all areas in art, historical and modern which I demonstrated through seminars and written work and took this forward to my working practices. I specialize in printing and digital printing using all kinds of processes and methods, such as screenscreen printing, CAD and hand-painting. I completed various workshops exploring all aspects in art and textiles such as weaving, knitting and intense life drawing sessions. I have a very good knowledge of dying a wide range of fabrics and combining the correct substances to do this effectively. I can apply critical reflection and analytical judgments as a means of identifying progress, personal strengths and professional development needs. Time keeping is extremely important to me, along with planning which creates professionalism in any area. I am very well organised which was an extremely important factor in my degree as there were so many areas of the course and everything needed to be recorded. I have spent a lot of time designing on the computer and I have very good I.T and CAD skills in several programs including Photoshop and Mac-based software.
