About me

To Whom It Concerns,

Having read of the position advertised for a Video Journalist on creativepool.co.uk, I wish to put my name forward for consideration. At present I am working as a Parliamentary Assistant to Patrick O'Donovan TD, a member of the Irish Parliament representing the Limerick constituency. My background is in journalism, having written for both local and national newspapers in Ireland as well as contributing to national radio shows, but I also have a keen interest in charity work.

One of my main strengths, I feel, is my ability to work with others in a high-pressure environment, be it officials in Government departments, the press or the general public. My current and past experiences in the media and politics have required the ability to manage, negotiate, compromise and debate on a wide variety of issues. Over the years, these are skills that I have continuously had to refine and I will continue to do so regardless of my field of work.

I have also developed considerable IT skills over the years, becoming proficient at website design, sound and video editing, and all of the Microsoft and Apple applications that you would expect someone working in a modern office to have learned.

If you feel that my skill set would be suited to the position advertised, then I would be most grateful for an interview to further prove my ability. I hope to hear back from you soon.

Kind regards,

John Hogan.
