About me

Having studied for my BA in Product Design at Ravensbourne, gaining a First Class Honours in 2001 and winning design awards along the way, I was recruited by Dyson Appliances to work as a Design Engineer in their NPD department. The technical challenges involved with designing and engineering products that had to be world class in their function, easy to manufacture and be reliable, plus follow a very concise visual language, made it the perfect complement to my BA degree, which was very "design and concept" based.

With Dyson for over 10 years, I grew with the business, through products and processes, working in NPI, NPD, Reliability and manufacturing; progressing from Design Engineer, eventually becoming a Research Design and Development manager for 3 years, building a fantastic team many of whom have become great friends.

I am currently Head of Product Development for a renewable energy company, which I love and has given me the opportunity to learn more about business strategy from a small company perspective - however I yearn to get back into a more customer focused, user lead product role.

My passion for creative three dimensional design and problem solving permeates through my life with house restoration and making ridiculous props and sets for a local theatre production collective keeping me busy at weekends.
