About me

I have an extensive background in customer service which includes dealing with sales both in person and telephone communication, handling customer complaints, dealing with stock orders and upkeep of the shop floor and stockrooms. I have also worked as a Kitchen Associate at The William Jolle pub in Northwood.

Currently I am working as a Servicing Engineer for a company called Pro-Servicing Ltd which involves the surveying and repairing of movable walls and folding partitions as well as freelance writing for a website named Entertainmentcocktail.com.

I have always been very passionate about film, from the industry itself to film as an art form and way of story telling. My love of film spans all genres and cultures from the more mainstream blockbusters to lesser known films from around the world.

My course at Kingston was an undergraduate course consisting of both practical and analytical approaches to film, studying a wide range of cinema including film noir, New Wave cinema and Chinese cinema and films from both Europe and the rest of the world. Skills which I developed include screenwriting; conceiving ideas for and producing both screenplays and shooting scripts. In my first and third years I also undertook in a group project which involved directing, shooting and editing films based on my own ideas as well as those of my group. These projects required me to learn and utilise a Canon X-L 1 camera as well as a boom microphone. For the editing process I had to learn and use an editing programme called Final Cut Pro as well as a MAC personal computer. Another project required me to choose a specific topic and research into it using various different techniques and avenues of research such as the internet and film archiving institutions. I then had to produce a piece of large-scale academic work; and this further improved my understanding of the cultural significance of cinema within a historical context, as well as the entertainment industry as a whole.
