About me

I am a modern journalist and copywriter who has 13 years experience at two of the biggest newspapers in the country. As well as a sub-editor on The Sun and News of the World, I was also acting deputy night editor for the latter. Additionally, I had a video game column in the paper which covered a spread every week.

The skills I have obtained over the years at this level include fast copy turnaround, clever content and headline writing and an eye for detail.

On the back bench of News of the World, my creative role was to turn a blank page into a colourful, eye-catching newspaper page which would grab the attention of the reader.

In order to "sell" these pages to readers, I had to tell a story using just a few words (headline and subdeck), the right image and a design trick (or two).

As a sub-editor, I added flair and creativity to basic copy provided for stories.

Outside the newspaper industry, I have also acted as a news consultant for one of the top PR agencies in the country, Mischief PR. My copywriting background includes coming up with the written content for the brochure of Noble Vintners LTD. This copy was also used on their website.
