I count 17 - in a mix of print and digital. I'm now trying to persuade an independent music training provider to let me help sort out their tone of voice. Possibly 18 then - and most of those since 2008.

I find it easy to connect with clients and 'get' the brief. I've always suspected my chequered past may have something to do with this...

I've worked as a bank nurse on a psychiatric ward, I've been an electrician's apprentice, I've taught shiatsu and English, I've been a macrobiotic chef, I've lived and worked in Switzerland and Germany and speak atrocious German with a hilarious accent (apparently). I've wheeled people into an ECT suite and helped them remember their own name when they've emerged. I've dug the foundations of a new-build and cut joints for a replica medieval timber-framed building. I trained as a barrister - okay, it seemed like a good idea at the time and I did score the highest grade in my year for drafting (puffs out chest). I've blown, strummed, scratched and beaten my way through every instrument on the spectrum apart from the bassoon (because it's ridiculous). I played a ghostly cleaner in a thoroughly depressing piece that was part of York Theatre Royal's festival of works by up and coming new playwrights. I've scared myself half to death on various damp rock-faces around the British Isles, and I've capsized in freshly melted glacial waters (with my oarsmen: a non-French-speaking German and a non-German-speaking Frenchman)...

CV is attached. Current contract ends 2 Nov. On £30k at present. Happy to relocate (I go where the work is, rather than make hefty commutes).
