About me

Dear Sir/Madame,

My name is Michael Hagan, and I would like to make myself available for this Account Manager roles in Advertising agencies in Central London. I am also interested in similar roles.

I have recently returned to the Ireland, following a year in Australia gaining some additional Account Manager experience at an advertising agency in Perth called Sandbox. I have learned a huge amount from my time there and I am now keen to continue to further my career in this industry.

I am moving to London at the end of this month, January 27th 2011, and would be happy to come in for a chat.

My educational background is in business and marketing. Having completed a Degree in Commerce, I then went on to complete a Masters Degree in Marketing Practice at University College Dublin and Smurfit Business School.

Given the poor economic climate in Ireland, upon graduating, I decided to get some hands on sales experience and worked as a business development representative for PepsiCo Ireland, a role I enjoyed and was very successful in.

As mentioned, I then emigrated to Perth, in November 2010, to further my career opportunities and experience in Advertising and Marketing. With Sandbox been a small agency I have been lucky enough to work on a wide range of projects during my time there.

I have managed advertising campaigns, as well as branding and re-branding projects, and web development. I managed accounts in a range of industries. Such as Datacom, Fresh Provisions, Carbon Neutral, Uniting Care West and Bristile Roofing.

I am a people person and pride myself on client relationships. I love the challenge of managing relationships with a range of personality types. It is important to access and understand each client and their needs, and tailor your service and support to meet those requirements.

I have experience in client service, strategy development, and brand consultancy, event management, drafting briefs and key messages, and managing projects from start to finish, whilst liaising with creative copywriters, graphic designers and web developers throughout.

I also have experience with media planning and placement and I am very confident presenting and pitching to clients. I am organised, driven and and self motivated, and believe I have a suitable personality for this role. The world of advertising, marketing and particularly branding genuinely excites me, and I am ready to further my career in this field. As mentioned I have learned an abundance during my last role and now feel I am ready to make an impression in a creative and successful London agency.

I would regard myself as a creative thinker. I am an avid songwriter, but of course know when to step back and let the creative's do their thing. I thank you for taking the time to read my cover letter.
