About me

I believe I have the requisite skills and abilities needed to fulfill a role in web development or design. I am a recent graduate from the University of Bradford, where I attained a 2:1 degree in BSc Internet Computing.

My final year project involved the creation of an online newsletter that would replace a current printed version. This resulted in a site that had to be tailored for users with little or no knowledge of HTML or other languages, and support a range of media, inputs and formats. One of the things I considered was how feasible it would be to use my system as a framework for other organisations or groups, and the considerations that would need to be taken into account for this. The prospect of carrying on the same kind of work I have already started, but at a higher level of quality, excites me. I would relish the opportunity to work with like-minded people to continue doing something I enjoy and be part of a company that shares my passions and creativity.

Technically, I have an excellent knowledge of PHP, CSS, HTML and MySQL from my final year project in particular. This also led me to consider a number of design issues, such as cross-browser compatibility and standards. I have used Macromedia Dreamweaver in every web development exercise or project I have performed, and have also begun to use Adobe PhotoShop informally. Through all the part-time jobs I have had, and numerous group work and projects, I have developed excellent communication and teamwork skills.
