About me

Travel Writer.

Travel is such a part of my life to the extent I live a part nomadic existance at times.

I write because I love it. I love to observe the world around me, take note of the beauty of the world around me as much as the little absurdities which make travel the unique, life-defining experience it is.

My academic qualifications gave me the techincal skills to construct a well-written informative piece but I prefer a light-hearted fare. My aim with my writing is to share the experiences I have travelling with everyone, so people who like to get information from travel articles can enjoy my words as much as those who like a good story, who like a laugh and to become involved in the story. I want to make people laugh and to see and share in the joy I get from travel whether or not they to feel the deep desire to experience it themselves.

Travel is fun and enjoyable even with its dramas and disasters and I believe travel writing should reflect the way the excitement merges with the educational.

Skills

I am a great communicator with excellent writing and creative skills as well as the techincal skills required to create, edit and submit articles. I also have strong design skills including a background in typesetting using InDesign and newspaper page design., What are my skills with words? How do I operate?, When you are out exploring the world, experiencing new cultures and emersing yourself in the other you need to connect with the reader at a relatable level. My articles have life. Not simply the what and when but sharing the experiences, the humour, the fears and the fun of travel. I engage the reader and make them feel like they are right there beside me.

Sector Experience

I predominately do travel writing from informative pieces to light-hearted, comic personal experience pieces. I also have an interest in film, television, art and culture.
