About me

My name is Gillian. I graduated from University of Stirling in 2010, where I gained a 2:1 BA hons in Film and Media Studies. Through this course I got educated in both theory and practical production work. I learned a lot about The Moving Image, Film and Music, New Hollywood Cinema, Film Narrative and Modern European Cinema.

I also learned a lot about production of a TV Features, Radio Features and Video Drama. Through the production aspect of the course, I was able to learn and have a hands on approach to operating a camera and setting up angles and framing. I also learned about lighting and sound, set design, casting and editing.
Through this course I discovered my passion for editing. As part of my course production classes, when we had to produce a piece of work, i took it upon myself to become the editor of the project. I done this because I really enjoy bring the pieces of the feature together and bringing the narrative to life though editing techniques.
My ideal position would be to be part of an editing team. I would enjoy to be an assistan teditor or main editor and taking on the challenges to bring together a story.
