ABOUT

Afroverse reimagines how we experience African culture- through interactive storytelling, art, and adventure. We set out to build a bridge between cultural heritage and gameplay, turning real artifacts and oral traditions into a living, playable museum.

Every artifact in the game was 3D-scanned, retopologized, textured, and integrated into the environment- blending accuracy, artistry, and technology. Players take on quests drawn from African myths: retrieving the legendary Chi Wara, communicating with ancestors, and traveling through the Sankofa Teleportal, which links the game world to a virtual museum- celebrating the power of learning from the past.

Each story was fact-checked by curator Jane Woolard, whose expertise made this collaboration possible. And one of the highlights? Getting to interview Mamounata, the princess of Burkina Faso and a direct descendant of Princess Yennenga, the legendary hero of Burkina Faso- bringing authenticity straight from living history.
