ABOUT
Case Study: Anna Fishbeyn & Movement 360 – LA Weekly Feature
CONCEPT To generate high-impact media awareness for filmmaker Anna Fishbeyn ahead of the global debut of her sci-fi satire film, Galaxy 360: A Woman’s Playground, and the launch of her new streaming platform, Movement 360. The narrative strategy focused on positioning Anna as a boundary-pushing creative visionary while highlighting the deeply personal, empowering story behind the film. By leaning into the cultural zeitgeist of feminist cinema—framing the project as a gender-bending "Barbie After Dark"—the goal was to secure a major cultural feature that drove anticipation for the platform's August 23rd launch.
EXECUTION We secured a dedicated, in-depth feature in LA Weekly, tapping into the publication’s heavy influence in the Los Angeles entertainment and arts scene. The pitch successfully wove together several compelling angles: the film’s creative bi-coastal theatrical runs (including a highly engaging live pop-up male beauty pageant at the Gardena Cinema), the provocative 2195 futuristic premise, and Anna’s inspiring personal journey reclaiming her voice as a survivor of domestic violence. By bridging her background in acclaimed off-Broadway theater with her transition to a tech-forward streaming founder, we framed the Movement 360 launch as a significant industry moment rather than just an indie film release.
RESULTS The campaign resulted in a prominent, glowing feature article in LA Weekly ("The Revolution Will Be Streamed"), published just days before the global launch. The placement successfully validated Galaxy 360’s cultural relevance, praised Anna’s satirical genius, and provided a massive visibility boost in a top-tier Los Angeles publication. Crucially, the article served as a direct funnel, explicitly driving readers to the Movement 360 platform for the premiere while cementing Anna Fishbeyn's public image as an empowering, conversation-starting force in the entertainment industry.
