ABOUT
Art trails are all the fashion at the moment. They are a great way of promoting arts, crafts and design for local areas. Not only that, they also connect businesses, artists and communities, as well as attracting new visitors to the area. This year, Stockport joined the list of cities getting involved with their very own fibreglass Frog Art Trail.
Back in 2018, Totally Stockport approached Plunge to fabricate an initial design idea for their art trail, the Stockport Strawberry Frog. They then used this first fibreglass frog sculpture to promote the art trail and get businesses interested in sponsoring the event.
Once the sponsorship was secured, a further 18 fibreglass frogs were commissioned. We delivered these as blank primed fibreglass frogs, all ready for decorating by local artists and community groups.
On 29 June 2019, the Giant Leap Frog Art Trail was launched . The nineteen vibrantly painted frog sculptures were dotted around the city centre. The art trail closes in September, at which point the frogs will be auctioned off. Funds raised in the charity auction will be reinvested to create a Giant Leap legacy fund.
