Platon is a professional Producer and commercials Executive Producer with 30 years
experience in film production running Lucky Fish Productions in Cape Town.
In 1997 he joined Big World Cinema as a partner, producing international and feature films, documentaries, TV dramas and commercials until 2008. During this time he was also a partner of the Encounters South African International Documentary Festival.
He then line produced the feature film "Master Harold and the
Boys", Directed by Lonny Price and staring Freddy Highmore (Bates
Motel) and Ving Rhames (Mission Impossible, Pulp Fiction) in early 2009.
Due to clients requests he established Lucky Fish Productions
producing and servicing International and local commercials, digital
content and television.
During this time he was production monitor for the main investor of the
feature film "Themba", a German/South African co-production. This
entailed weekly set visits, monitoring the filming process, checking
production reports, cost reporting, keeping an eye on the budget and
reporting back to investors.

In 2016 Lucky Fish serviced the UK French co-production "I am not a
Witch" supplying crew and equipment from South Africa to Zambia
and providing production support for UK producer Emily Morgan of
Soda Pictures.
Platon has produced films that have won many awards and have
screened and nominated at Cannes, The Oscars(R), Toronto,
Berlin, Tribeca, Berlinale and many more. The films have screened all
over the world including BBC, Discovery, Channel 4, ARTE,
SABC, eTV, and at cinemas in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia
and Africa.
