Concept
Wired Italy develops an editorial art direction system capable of balancing technological culture, investigative journalism and visual experimentation within a coherent publishing identity.
Rather than treating each issue as an isolated object, the project approaches the magazine as an evolving editorial platform: a flexible visual system where typography, image-making and pacing continuously adapt to the themes of each issue while maintaining a strong and recognisable brand personality.
The art direction explores the tension between human and artificial, analogue and digital, information and atmosphere. Covers and feature stories are conceived as editorial narratives rather than mere page layouts, combining commissioned photography, illustration, data-driven visuals and typographic structures into a unified editorial experience.

Execution
Across issues 112–115, the magazine develops a modular but highly expressive editorial language. Each issue introduces a distinct visual atmosphere while preserving continuity through rigorous visual codes.
Large-scale typography, asymmetrical compositions and cinematic pacing are used to structure the narrative flow. Feature openers alternate immersive full-bleed imagery with restrained editorial layouts, allowing visual rhythm and narrative contrast to coexist throughout the publication.
Special attention is given to:
• typographic hierarchy and pacing
• integration between editorial content and commissioned visuals
• balance between expressive layouts and readability
• creation of a recognisable annual visual identity across quarterly issues

Results
Wired Italy 2025 reinforces the magazine’s position as one of the most visually distinctive editorial platforms in contemporary European publishing.
The project transforms each issue into both a journalistic object and a designed cultural artefact, capable of engaging readers through narrative structure, visual experimentation and editorial coherence.
By combining systemic consistency with continuous visual reinvention, the art direction establishes a recognisable publishing identity while allowing every issue to develop its own tone of voice, atmosphere and visual character.
