ABOUT
The Brief:
To creatively promote insect-based protein foods to an adult audience by making them more approachable, appealing, and engaging through branding, packaging, and tone of voice.
My Approach:
-Developed a fun and playful cereal brand called Bugs & Bugs, aiming to challenge the stigma around insect consumption.
-Created three distinct product lines:
Hopper Flakes – Made from grasshopper protein
Bee Flakes – Inspired by bee-derived protein
Cricket Crunch Flakes – Based on cricket protein
-Used bold illustrations, quirky names, and a humorous tone of voice to make the concept lighthearted yet inspiring.
-Designed the packaging to balance creativity with clarity, showcasing both the sustainability and nutritional benefits.
-Focused on visual storytelling to educate and intrigue consumers about the benefits of insect protein in a non-intimidating way.
The Result
-Successfully developed a visually compelling, socially relevant concept that repositions insect-based foods as trendy, eco-conscious, and fun.
-The creative tone resonated with the target audience by presenting sustainability in an unexpected and enjoyable form.
-The branding demonstrated how design can transform perceptions and open doors to future-forward food trends.
