ABOUT
The European Union Prize for Literature promotes the circulation of literature within Europe. Winning authors gain a wider reach with an international audience. Playing with an animated style of paper and ink gave these videos a bookish feel. The EUPL brand is limited to black and yellow so this approach helped to subtly transition between these colours, while the paper tone provided additional depth. Lower-third, ink slabs were used with a rubbed-matte to reveal each talking head. This helped to formulate a template that could be carried through the piece.
"Phil's videos for the 2024 edition of the European Union Prize for Literature are very much in line with who we are and what we had in mind. With his creative touch, which builds on our previous collaboration, Phil's videos have allowed us to connect with our audience across Europe, while highlighting European literature and putting faces to the names of those involved. We are very pleased with the positive impact this has had on our communications strategy and look forward to collaborating again in the future."
