ABOUT
The Green Plaque is a national environmental assessment and award for householders, developers and businesses. The scheme is being developed in partnership with house-builders and businesses in the renewables sector, such as wind or solar energy co-ops, as a value-added offering.
My role involved creating a set of related brand options that could be applied to publicity materials targeted to the projects variouos target audiences, along with a design template for the Green Plaque assessment reports. I also write press releases to publicise each of the major schemes assessed by the scheme.
I created a master corporate logo, using a combination of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, as well as a selected set of fonts and colour scheme, along with the main assessment report in InDesign. A major part of the role is also to turn the often very technical and dry reports into a format and style that may appeal to a wider, mainstream audience. In addition to this, clients that successfully complete the assessment are awarded a Green Plaque, a design printed on slate that can be displayed and mounted on-site. This incorporates a QR code linked to the edited and designed assessment report, so visitors can ascertain the environmental features incorporated into the development.
The Green Plaque is proving increaisngly popular among property developers, retrofitters and house-builders as, having completed the assessment process, they are well-placed to win industry design awards.
