Gatorade already quenches the thirst of the world’s greatest athletes. But what about the next generation of great athletes?

In February 2024, we launched The Gatorade Rookie Bottle, a new stainless steel bottle designed to meet the unique needs of younger competitors. Because their thirst is different, the Rookie Bottle needed to be different. To perfect the new design, we took feedback and insights directly from parents and their youth athletes. With their help, we identified three crucial features and functions: mobility, durability and cleanability.

When it comes to hydration, kids don't need as much volume; likewise, the larger size makes it harder for them to hold and drink from larger bottles. Even aspiring athletes tend to drop their bottles often, so we created a durable design, complete with a built-in carrying handle and dent-resistant shell that protects the bottle from drops. Plus, we added a leak-proof straw cap to minimize spills, and a double-wall stainless steel interior that provides more than 24 hours of insulation.

The simplicity of parts and assembly make it easy for parents to take apart and wash or place in the dishwasher. Taken together, the sleek silhouette and ergonomic design improve the thirst-quenching experience for kids, while also giving parents peace of mind when giving the sleek bottle to their athlete.

The Rookie Bottle is the first piece of Gatorade equipment to utilize the iconic Bolt, paired here with fun sticker-like illustrations and a spectrum of eye-catching colors. We also added a space for parents to write their athlete’s name on the bottom of the bottle to make it easier to keep track of the bottle. The perfect bottle for your rookie athlete.
