ABOUT

Gevalia have been delighting coffee drinkers for over 150 years. But with a rise in shoppers trading up from mainstream coffee at home, the brand needed to create a more premium expression. Gevalia isn’t like every other coffee brand, its traditional Swedish method of slow roasting and snap cooling unlocks a full-bodied flavour and aroma that creates a feast for the senses. We wanted the brand’s new visual identity to capture the essence of that story with an authentic and attitudinal expression.

The idea of ‘Awaken Your Senses’ became our central and guiding narrative for the new identity. The new crown logo has been reimagined to be more fluid and expressive. And, on pack, the new swirls reflect the brand’s aromatic experience in a modern yet artistic way. Beautifully changing color across the range, the graphic helps to create easy navigation on shelf.

Still embracing its vibrant yellow canvas, the new identity brings to life the brand’s Swedish heritage by playing into contemporary Scandinavian aesthetics. We now proudly highlight Gavle, the town in Sweden where the brand was founded. And, the new wordmark has been redesigned in a lower case with a much bolder weight, aiding pronunciation of a soft ‘g’.
