It is a well-known fact amongst Singaporeans that our world-class economy and infrastructure was built on the backs of baby boomers and the generation that came after. For a small country, we have the third highest per-capita GDP in the world, in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). Which is why the more senior amongst us have trouble reconciling the differences they see in the younger generation. Paradoxically, having the foundations to succeed already laid, and more options in life than any generation before, they seem a little lost. Perhaps they never felt that struggle to survive. Or perhaps, with all the doors having been opened to them, the only struggle they see is the one to find meaning.

An initiative by the National Youth Council, this TV ad posed thought-provoking questions to the general public in the hopes of getting them to see our youth in a more positive light
