Brief: Development of new brand for a redevelopment of a national GAA stadium

Background: Páirc Uí Chaoimh was first built in the late 70s. It was no longer suitable for use as a modern facility and has been demolished and is currently under construction and due to be complete in the summer of 2017.

Approach: As there was no obvious outstanding design feature of this new development I had to scrutinise the architects plans to find my design. I took the angles from the opposing covered stands, together with the ubiquitous GAA goal posts to create the logo. The red colour was an obvious choice as red is the Cork GAA colours. I then created the concept line "Where Legends are Born". This line was a nod to all the Legends past and present that have played on Cork's famous GAA stadium. It is also a nod to the Legends yet to be discovered.

Outcome: The client is very proud of my work and totally understands the importance of a strong brand when launching a project of this magnitude.
