Equal parts filmmaker, technologist, and creative instigator, ctrl_cd brings a modern workflow rooted in art direction and craft-then accelerated by AI.
“For me, AI is a creative instrument rather than a system to be engineered. I work very much like a director would, starting with mood, world, and emotional intention, and then developing imagery and motion through exploration, selection, and refinement. The process is iterative and hands-on. I guide the material, respond to what emerges, and shape it into a precise visual and narrative language. Control and unpredictability exist side by side; the goal is not automation, but authorship,” says ctrl_cd.
At the core of ctrl_cd’s approach is a balance GREATERGOOD loves: precision and surprise. She builds systems, often using structured prompts and even JSON-style logic where helpful, while staying open to the unexpected sparks that AI can produce when you give it the right sandbox (and just enough trouble).

ctrl_cd (pronounced “control CD”) is a Croatian filmmaker and art director based in Germany, working internationally across film, advertising, fashion, and experimental narrative formats.
With a strong European sensibility and a background in art direction, ctrl_cd creates visually driven, cinematic work at the intersection of storytelling and emerging technology. Her films and images are defined by a refined visual language, strong atmosphere, and a director-led approach that treats AI as a creative medium rather than a shortcut.
Her process is highly authored and iterative, spanning visual development, image creation, animation, editing, and sound. By pushing both the tools and herself to their limits, ctrl_cd explores the tension between control and unpredictability — shaping AI-generated material into precise, emotionally driven narratives.
Her work has been shown internationally, including at the Milan Film Festival, featured as part of NeoFashion during Berlin Fashion Week, and exhibited in Florence. She has been published and featured by platforms such as Creativa.ai and Prompt Magazine, as well as served as a jury member for the Berlin Music Video Awards in the categories of Art Direction and AI. In 2026 she was recognized by the AI creative community as one of the “AI Movers & Shakers”.
