Concept
HoYoverse commissioned Particle6 to produce promotional music videos for Genshin Impact's orchestral soundtrack releases — cinematic films designed to bring the game's original compositions to life for a global audience of millions. Genshin Impact is one of the highest-grossing mobile games ever released, and its soundtrack, produced by in-house music studio HOYO-MiX and performed by major symphony orchestras, commands a dedicated fanbase in its own right. The MVs served as the primary promotional vehicles for album releases, published directly to the game's official channels.


Execution:
The two productions are the Storyline EP MV "La vaguelette" (2023) and the Fontaine OST Album Promotional MV "Lamentation et Triomphe" (2023). Both were produced for HOYO-MiX and released on the official Genshin Impact YouTube channel.

"Lamentation et Triomphe" was a large-scale production directed by Phoebe Brooks, featuring 70 musicians and filmed across multiple locations including on water. The shoot required extensive pre-production, with detailed floor plans, shot lists, and a pre-visualisation edit produced before filming began.


Results:
"La vaguelette" has accumulated over 6.7 million views on YouTube. "Lamentation et Triomphe" was published to the Genshin Impact channel, which has a global following in the tens of millions, and the broader Fontaine OST release drew significant engagement from the game's fanbase on release in September 2023.
