As part of the progression towards a range of dynamic, toy-esque style publishing products, I was briefed to develop a range that could be presented to Disney, making a grand departure from the existing books-plus offerings from Parragon. The ‘Sweet Dreams Library’ was born from the desire to provide an engaging product for bedtime that includes five story books, rotating light projector and calming melody. Initial concept sketches lead to me producing a working prototype that was then presented to Disney. The product was loved by the client for its innovative approach to a bedtime solution and so the project was green-lit for production. A toy designer was brought on board to fully develop the mechanics while the packaging and artwork was progressing in-house. Since it's first release of 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' and 'Sophia the First', the Sweet Dream Library has performed incredibly well in store. It's initial success has lead to the commissioning of a 'Frozen' and 'Doc Mcstuffins' versions and It has since been taken by Nickelodeon for Paw Patrol with the portfolio expanding all the time.
