Pamela Johnson 3D Interior Designer/Graphic Designer

ABOUT

Concept: This project is the finalized 3D renderings for a 4,000 sq foot custom home in Austin, Texas. This project is to provide detailed interior design concepts for the homeowners. They want to create a very family oriented space where they can seat their large, extended family for entertaining and accommodate many different size people in one place for dining, relaxation and entertainment. They would also like to upgrade the builder grade finishes and fixtures in the home. Finally, the open concept floorplan provides lots of entertainment space, but acoustics in the home needed to modified so that the doctor can work in his private office and others can sleep without disturbance, and noise from media area does not interfere. All furnishings needed to be family friendly. Lighting goals were achieved through the installation of chandeliers that aesthetically worked together in an open space.

Execution: Space planning was challenging but with careful measurements and specifications, seating goals were accomplished, but still left the home feeling spacious. Acoustics were modified using insulated slat wall treatment and additional finishes on walls to create more privacy. A contemporary, peaceful vibe was created by not overdoing decor and letting the architecture standout. All furniture was carefully evaluated as to quality, cleaning capabilities and flexibility for visitors. New fans and lighting were programmed to be energy efficient and remote programmable. The master bath was created to provide a "get away" feel for the mother of the children and make the best of the site view.

Results: The clients are very happy with all Phase I design results and will be doing further upgrades for Phase II.
