An Uncertain Spring records and speculates the uncertainty the club scene currently faces amidst lockdown and it has both a print and digital element. The Coronavirus outbreak and the enforced lockdown led to the closure of every social space in Ireland. For many young people, myself included, these social spaces (nightclubs, pubs, parks, college campuses) were the core of our social lives. We were forced to completely relearn our concept of socialising.
This publication is a personal documentation of the changeover to socialising on a virtual platform. Texting replaced casual meet-ups and Zoom quizzes replaced club nights. It spans over 8 weeks and the content features screenshots of Zoom calls and parties with my friends, newspaper articles as well as government updates by the week. The aim was to archive this peculiar time in all of our lives. In the future when people want to look back or learn about the effect of the lockdown on young people, perhaps this publication will be
of assistance.
