Julie has pursued and enjoyed a tremendous variety of different editorial experiences, including in 2013 gaining a first-class BA Honours degree in English Language and Literature as a result of six years’ continuous part-time studies around full-time jobs and raising a family.
Julie’s CV includes working as a newspaper features writer and reviewer; as one of Hallmark Cards’ most senior creative editors and having worked as PR for BBC broadcaster Michael ‘Mr Nationwide’ Barratt. More recently Julie has spent ten years as a technical editor and author for global organizations coaching engineers and untrained writers to put together persuasive yet readable tender and prequalification responses using her writing ethos ‘less is more’ which is based on the 'plain English' principle. She is an approved editor with the Open University and has edited numerous theses and dissertations as well as writing and presenting plain English teaching workshops and authoring accompanying guides.
