ABOUT
Colliderfest is a brand new four- day science and arts extravaganza bringing together the STEAM sector through educational events for schools, a weekend of exciting sciences and arts- based activities, workshops and shows for visitors combined with a large-scale evening spectacle of light installations trailing across the city centre. Colliderfest has been renamed this year after previously being known as the British Science Festival. Hull University tasked One SC Media with help in moving Colliderfest into a new light with the new name.
As part of the execution of this project, One SC Media created a website and software management to host ticket sales and provide live content updates on the event days of the festival. This was broken down into three phases. The first phase of this was the creation of a new website which allowed customers to register their interest in events that were advertised on the platform. It also allowed sponsors to register for sponsorship. In the second phase of execution, the website was updated in order to host ticket sales for all events held at Colliderfest. The final phase ran during the event and included live tech support provided by One SC Media. During the days of the festival, the tech and media team were on hand to provide media updates which were uploaded in live time on the website. These updates contained live broadcasts which captured various image and videos from the event days live. In addition to this One SC Media worked with the client to write a clear and compliant privacy policy for their website, covering data collection, usage, and user rights.
We worked with Hull City Council, Hull Culture and Leisure, Hull Museums, Hull Maritime, and University of Hull for this event. Due to the scale of the project, we built a new website and bespoke software solutions which managed over 150 sessions of activities. With multiple running simultaneously at various locations. The event had over 35,000 attendees over the span of 4 days.
Dr Ben Butler, Deputy Director Advancement Development and Alumni Relations, has expressed his thanks to the One SC Media team for going above and beyond during the support they provided for the festival; from opening their office space for breakout spaces to stepping up to provide queue management during events. This support was provided in addition to providing impressive content showcasing the events and providing an insight into science innovation.
