ABOUT
This has been a personal project of mine which I started in my final year of University and have continued after graduating.
My work is both realism in a simplistic style and at the same time abstract with an underlying tone of a more serious message.
I was inspired by painting these magnificent birds after visiting a falconry center and feeling rather pensive whilst staring at such large beautiful birds chained up and hidden behind cages. It seems a waste of their life and grandeur being imprisoned for mere passers by to gawk at.
My work of half finished paintings of birds are a reflection of what I see looking at them when they are constricted and tethered up. The unfinished looking piece of work is what I see in reality, only half of the beauty when it could be so much more in it's natural state.
