About me
Dear Sir
Cover Letter for Sub-Editor post
I am a personable, trustworthy, hardworking and target-orientated individual. Alongside that, I am well-organized, have high personal integrity, and am calm and professional towards work.
Being at the beginning stage of my career, I desire to find a post which would enable me to apply the writing skills which I developed from my English Language and Literature degree into practice. The degree has provided me a strong foundation for building a career requiring excellent research skills, an ability to think critically, creatively and write in an articulate manner. It has also granted me excellent time management skills and mastered my ability to work very well under pressure. I undoubtedly enjoy the creative aspect of writing but also believe my analytical and research skills would be highly beneficial for a role that would demand an ability to understand copious amounts of paperwork each day.
My administrative natured work experiences would be advantageous for the more administrative side of a Sub-Editor post. I have learnt the importance of paying attention to detail and being meticulous in every aspect of a task I am given. I have also mastered my degree of resilience such as being able to remain professional even when tensions run high within a team. Having also done significant paralegal-type work in the legal industry, I have strong experience in working in a corporate environment. Furthermore, experience as an Undergraduate Representative for the Linguistics Department at University has developed my professional and diplomatic communication skills. Previous work at Court has also taught me how to command respect from people when necessary as I was given the opportunity to sit in Court proceedings. By way of exemplification, I learnt how to adjust my tone and posture according to the situation at hand. Moreover, I have experience in door to door sales from working at a Marketing and Sales Company. The role involved me trying to get customers to donate to Action for Blind and National Deaf Children Society. As such, I have customer service experience, and am aware of the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, having tenacity and a student mentality. Additionally, I think my helpful attitude is suggested by my previous decision to do volunteer work for 3 months at Cancer Research. Moreover, having native written and spoken English as an overseas student would be advantageous for building relationships with foreign clients when necessary. I also have a typing speed of 108 words per minute. I see a Sub-Editor post at your organization as an excellent stepping stone for flexing my creative muscles and taking on more management responsibilities in 5 years time.
I would welcome the opportunity to meet you and learn more about your organization.
Thank you ve
