ABOUT

About The Brand: Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been through an incredible journey to get where we are today. We were founded at Crufts in 1982, but there was nothing glamorous or prestigious about our beginnings. Our dogs were trained in the living room of founding member Gill Lacey, and we had just three members of staff.

Brief And The Challenge: Hearing Dogs does a lot of vital life-changing work. Training dogs to alert recipients to everyday sounds and ultimately their recipients more confidence and independence. But no-one’s really heard of them,. Unlike Guide Dogs for the Blind. So we needed an engaging communication to raise awareness of what they do in a nutshell.

Process: I worked with a copywriter to produce concepts, the one that stood out and feeds into the role of a hearing dog. ‘The dogs are the deaf people’s ears’.
We created a campaign around the ears of a dog on normal people.
Being the art director on this campaign, directing the photo shot and did the retouching of the dog ears onto the models.

Outcome: An attention-grabbing campaign to raise awareness for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. On the second Page we created a animation using my scamps and the idea of tamagotchi. Where the public look after and train a dog on a device.

- Also looked at pushing the concept to win awards (outdoor billboard award)
