ABOUT

CONCEPT
Brief: Junctions: Ancient Routes, Future Paths is a curated, high-end publication that reimagines the New Silk Road not as a nostalgic retelling, but as a contemporary network of global ambition—where ancient routes intersect with modern innovation.

Objective: To visually convey the economic and cultural dynamism of Asia and the Middle East by highlighting how major themes—mobility, energy, digital disruption, financial systems—are embedded in people’s everyday lives. Rather than relying on conventional industry photography, this report uses real-life moments to make macro trends feel intimate and tangible.

Target Audience: Business leaders, policymakers, institutional investors, and culturally engaged audiences across Asia, the Middle East, and global markets.

Budget: The project was completed with a mid-range budget, enabling us to commission original photography in key cities and invest in high-quality print production, while all creative direction and design were managed in-house to ensure brand consistency and cost efficiency.

EXECUTION
We partnered with four photographers across Dubai, Riyadh, Mumbai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong SAR, China, capturing real-life, unscripted moments that reflect how major transformation themes—mobility, energy, finance, digital disruption—intersect with daily routines.

Styling & Design:
Clean, documentary-style art direction with a restrained color palette to create a sophisticated canvas for vibrant photographic stories.
Custom calligraphy in multiple languages (Arabic, Hindi, Simplified Chinese) was integrated into chapter openers to honor local narratives and cultural identities.
Layouts are structured with a Swiss-inspired grid but allow for asymmetry and white space, conveying both precision and openness.

Materials & Production:
Offset printing on uncoated Munken paper for a natural, tactile feel.
Spot UV was used sparingly on select calligraphic titles to guide the eye, while Pantone 8180 C metallic ink highlighted future-forward themes.
Each spread was designed with accessibility and reading flow in mind, ensuring balance between visual impact and editorial clarity.

Process:
This publication was part of a broader creative evolution for our internal studio—marking a shift toward more human-centered, story-driven design. The development spanned five months, from research and photography direction to layout, print production, and internal stakeholder engagement.

RESULT
Junctions was distributed as a limited-edition print at flagship leadership events, used as a narrative tool in senior stakeholder discussions, and as a positioning piece for the firm's vision in Asia and the Middle East.
It has become one of the most referenced publications internally, elevating the creative standard for future editorial projects.
It also contributed to the successful internal rollout of the new visual brand direction—setting the tone for how future content should balance authenticity, elegance, and impact.
