Oli's work
About Oli
I have always had a passion for art and 3 years spent at University only furthered this appreciation.
Whilst at Uni, I gained a great deal of experience using Adobe Creative Suite products, including Indesign and Photoshop, both of which were critical to the completion of my work.
The outcomes of my work across the 3 years varied vastly, but all included printed media, be it actual photographic prints, posters, fliers or photo books, and all involved also a great deal of design.
As well as receiving Indesign tuition at Uni, we also received several sessions using Dreamweaver on basic CSS, the culmination of which was the production of a basic website.
Photography was obviously my specialism, however I did also branch out into filmmaking during my 3rd year, and so am competent in the production of videos and familiar with associated editing software.
Subsequently since Uni, I have produced promotional material in the form of posters and fliers for my Sisters Cookery School, and am always actively working on little design projects using Indesign and Photoshop.
I am also proficient on both Mac and PC.
Office work I have completed most notably has been the 6 months working for NHS SBS last year, where I was working in a large office dealing with invoice queries. This involved a lot of contact with our clients, both over the phone and via email, and so effective communication was essential in order to explain accurately and efficiently issues that needed to be resolved to clients who were often impatient and occasionally irate. With complex and critical issues also arising communication with my colleagues and superiors for guidance was also key. This work was fast paced and often time critical, and involved a lot of IT usage and complex systems. I adapted quickly to this environment and was able to pick up new skills very quickly, and because of feedback I had, I was nominated for Temp of the month.
Following this, in September of last year I spent 10 weeks cycling and camping across America with my Brother, I love to challenge myself, and this trip vastly increased my resourcefulness, resilience and ability to adapt to new and demanding situations and problem solve on the go.
I have done a variety of different types of volunteering work over the past year, I helped out at the Bristol Bike Project for a couple of months, and then over summer I worked as a volunteer gardener for the National Trust at Tyntesfield, both of which have been really rewarding and helped develop my communication skills to a wide variety of people from many differing backgrounds.
I am currently living in Bridgwater, but am looking to relocate to Bristol in the near future, and in the meantime am able to commute.
I feel my previous roles and experiences show I am a reliable, hard working, adaptable and dedicated to always completing tasks to the absolute best of my ability.
