ABOUT

European [Sports Goods outlet] Intersport hired Sports On Screen and myself to execute a series of launch videos for the brand new Nike Hypervenom football (soccer) boot.

Spanning three countries we travelled to top academies in Spain, Germany, and Holand, to film players taking on the Hypervenom course. Challenging their agility and shooting, main features of the boot.

Prior to the shoot, I worked with the team to develop the language and messaging around the launch. The boot likened to the mythic and iconic ninja blade, the aesthetic evoking future punk, we landing on messaging and visuals that evoked a cyber neo-noir, with our heroes (target audience) as a mysterious protagonist tasked with cutting through the mainstream, mundane, and traditional, to become the new evolution of player.

During the shoot, I was the DIT and PA, tasked with keeping the data management of the footage organised and updated. We worked on a razor-thin production schedule which required data to be sent to post immediately after the shoot. For me, this meant keeping my eyes across all camera personnel and all footage to ensure all footage was backed up immediately while also making sure there was enough memory available for the shoot itself.

As well as DIT I also served as the PA on the shoot, organising the cinematography team in terms of their gear allocation, their shooting support, and backroom organiser. Then liaising with the clients to facilitate smooth communication between them and cinematography, as well as client relationship management throughout the shoot.
