ABOUT

This is a collection of illustrations I created for my participation in the 2022 Prémio de Literatura Infantil, one of the largest
illustration books competitions in Portugal, organized by Pingo Doce.

The story, by Daniela Leitão, is focused around a child's perception of the passing of time as he grows up, and its effects on himself and the people he grew up with, specifically his grandfather, who he idolizes, and the juxtaposition of his own growth contrasting to his grandpa's natural physical weakening. A beautiful story about accepting the harsh truth of growing up.
