ABOUT
The NSPCC and Home Office Forced Marriage Unit commissioned us to create a film to alert children, especially young, teenage girls, to a change in the law that would make forced marriage illegal in the UK.
Not the easiest subject matter in the world, we began by searching for a concept that would visualise a sense of having no control of one's destiny. Life can feel like a conveyor belt at the best of times, add family, community and cultural pressures and it's easy to feel like it's quickly getting away from you.
Working with animator Bishoy Gendi, we developed the character of Layla and a colourful isometric world that would illustrate her world, friends and family, giving a subtle aesthetic nod to gaming and social media.
The film was shortlisted for a Lovie Award for Best Animation.
