ABOUT

Problem
The number of people visiting the UK’s coastline has dropped significantly in recent years, with
18- 24-year olds being the least connected to the UK coast. This was a big issue with tourism
contributing massively to the quality of life and wellbeing in coastal areas.

Concept
A coastline festival which will tour the UK throughout the summer of 2019. The Event aims
to attract more millennials to the coast and discover more about it. The events identity has a
sparkly quality, inspired by the shimmering reflection of sunlight of water, known as sun glitter.

As an advertisement for the event, I created an animation. As the trails of glitter move through each image they gradually draw the viewer towards the coast, before eventually showing information about the event.

I consistently extended the visual identity of the event through a range of items style for the event, including a guidebook/ map, lanyards, and wristbands. In doing so, I needed to adjust the design to ensure it was more appropriate for print than my digital designs.
Using the process of foiling I was able to create a subtle glittery shimmer across each material.

As part of the project, I designed branding for Eco Glitter. This was to help promote the use of
the Biodegradable product to visitors of the event, aiming to encourage them to use this as an
alternative to plastic glitter. Not only did this fit in well this the branding of the event, but it also
communicated with my audience due to millennials current interest in using glitter.
