The campaign “An Open Mind Is the Best Look” is a celebration that reflects Nordstrom’s place in the world, where everyone is welcome; where people, styles and ideas crisscross; where high fashion meets low fashion, classic meets contemporary. Minds are opened, and people get to look and feel their best. The idea is brought to life through an integrated body of work spearheaded by a long form film shot by acclaimed director Martin de Thurah on location in Austin, Texas.The anthem film brings together people of all ages, backgrounds and styles in a celebration of humanity and examines how we all exist in the world. By telling each person’s story, we let viewers connect with strangers. Over the film, we hear the profound words of Carol, our improv teacher, guiding her pupils through improv sessions and the world as a whole.
