Back in 2019, we filmed a short documentary at Arc Cafe in St Mary’s Redcliffe Church in Bristol. The cafe helps recovering drug addicts get back in to full-time employment through volunteering. As my role as cinematographer, it was crucial to create an observant style documentary while also exploring the workers troubled pasts carefully and respectfully. Over the course of 2 months, we were able to create something that has helped change a number of lives. Thanks to the publicity and exposure of our documentary, Arc Cafe is opening up a second location in Bristol. We weren't expecting this to happen at first but it's so wonderful to see our hard work create a happy story.
