Have you ever wondered where all the missing things go? ‘How can I describe this place? It’s an in–between place. It’s like a grand hallway that leads you nowhere, it’s like a banquet dinner of left–overs, a sports team made up of the people never picked, a mother without her child, it’s a body without its heart. It’s almost there but not quite. It’s filled to the brim with personal items yet it’s empty because the people who own them aren’t here to love them.’

This negotiated portfolio project is inspired by the Cecilia Ahern book, ‘A place called here’ within this project I will be researching into all things that have mysteriously disappeared from this world, and through my illustrations and prints create a world to which all these missing ob- jects end up, a place all missing things called home. I will be looking specifically at extinct animals, wild life and flowers, as well as lost treasures never found. I would also like to incorporate missing lives, giving hope that all the lost souls that have been taken from us, are living happily in this new, undiscovered land. The project focuses on combing these different elements to create a fun, exciting and colorful world of print and
pattern for the modern, fashion forward consumer.
