Dear Sir/Madam,

Please find enclosed my CV in application for this position.

The nature of my degree course has prepared me for this position. It involved a great deal of creativeness, engineering, self-motivation and a wide range of skills. Four years of designing has enabled me to advance my CAD skills. Designing and engineering is a great passion for myself to which I have been interested in from a very young age for this reason I chose to study at one of the best engineering universities in the UK where I was able to achieve a 2:1 with honours and accredited by the IET.

I am a fast learner and extremely keen to advance my knowledge. I am able to take on the responsibility of this position immediately, and have the enthusiasm and determination to ensure that I make a success of it. As well as possessing CAD skills my placement year enabled to me to have a greater understanding of working within a workshop and become competent with specialist tools. I was also one of five winners of the Armours and Brasiers award in Sheffield in 2013.
